FEE STRUCTURE

Please note that Emergency Department fees are not covered by private health insurance, as outlined in the Private Health Insurance Act 2007. Private health insurance only applies to costs incurred after a patient is admitted to the hospital.

$430 Facility Fee

At WiSE Plus-Norwest, as with all private emergency departments, there are out-of-pocket costs associated with your treatment. The standard Emergency Department fee is $430, which must be paid on the day of your visit.

We welcome all patients, regardless of whether you have private health insurance, are covered by Workcover or Veteran’s Affairs, or are uninsured.

Additional fees may apply for radiology, pathology, and specialist doctor consultations, depending on your treatment. Some of these costs may be partially claimable through Medicare. See below for further information

Private / Non-Medicare Patients

Insurance and Cover

Clinical Labs:

Pathology services are provided independently from WiSE Plus and may incur out-of-pocket fees. While some pathology tests may be bulk billed, many tests attract additional charges depending on the service provided and your individual circumstances. Patients may receive a separate invoice from the pathology provider.

PRP:

PRP operates independently from the hospital. If you receive a bill from PRP during your visit, it is separate from hospital charges and is payable directly to PRP.

Please note that out-of-pocket fees generally apply for most medical imaging services. Ultrasounds, MRI scans, and guided injections will attract out-of-pocket costs regardless of the day or time. X-rays and CT scans are generally bulk billed between 8:00am and 6:00pm Monday to Friday but may attract out-of-pocket fees outside these hours. MRI scans and guided injections can incur significant additional costs after hours

WiSE Plus Norwest offers consultations with emergency doctors at a fixed facility fee of $650.
The remaining costs that are covered by medicare are required to be paid upfront.
These costs encompass the doctors’ time, procedures, and diagnostic tests (such as radiology and pathology) conducted at the clinic. In the absence of Medicare, these expenses become out-of-pocket.
The good news is that WiSE can provide you with an invoice that you can submit to your insurance provider for reimbursement. However, it’s important to understand that WiSE cannot guarantee the percentage of the cost that your insurance will cover.

WiSE Plus Norwest has a set facility fee of $430 for those with Medicare, or $650 for those without.
If you’ve filed a claim with your workplace insurer and received a Claim ID number, WiSE can work directly with the insurer to cover the full treatment costs at the facility.
However, if you incur any costs before obtaining the Claim ID, you’ll need to pay out of pocket. You can then submit those expenses to your workplace insurer for reimbursement later.

Eligible DVA card holders may have their presentation fee billed directly to the Department of Veterans’ Affairs, resulting in no out-of-pocket presentation fee. This includes all Gold Card holders and eligible White Card holders where the presentation relates to an approved condition.

Australian Defence Force (ADF) personnel with a valid DAN and PMKey will have their presentation fee billed directly and will not incur any out-of-pocket presentation costs.

If you are unsure of your eligibility, please speak with our team before your visit.
